Something to Tide You Over

Did you read it all? If you didn't, I am extremely disappointed, but oh well.

If you looked it up on Google Translate, congrats. There is some useful advice in there. Although, that's not why we're here today.

Fun fact of the day! That text up there is referred to by its first two words "Lorem Ipsum." "What is its purpose?" you may ask. Contrary to what you might think, this is not some deep philosophical quote from Aristotle or whomever your heart desires. It is, in fact, total jibberish.

I just wasted some of your life. You're welcome.

Lorem Ipsum came about in the 1500s as filler text in a type specimen book, but its origins come in classical Latin literature from 45 BC. A piece called "De finibus bonorum et malorum (On the Ends of Good and Evil)" was composed by a man by the name of Marcus Tullius Cicero. Text was ripped right out of the first book of the series and scrambled a bit to form Lorem Ipsum.

Today, Lorem Ipsum is commonly used as a filler for typesetting. If you somehow come across a website in development, Lorem Ipsum may be used to stand in for future articles on the home page. Its main purpose is to act as un-useful as possible. It is SUPPOSED to deter you from looking at it and keep the web designers looking at the design elements of the page.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. I'll get something more substantial for your brain to chew on some other time.

So there you have it: a filler blog post about filler text.

Best Wishes! -Richie
