Salvation

So I have this class called God and Human Life. For an end-of-the-semester project, we had to write a paper on either 'salvation' or 'the nature of God.' It was due the week of finals. Luckily, our teacher gave us the option to do a project instead of a paper! I am usually against writing papers so I immediately took the project option. Usually when one says "project" I make a video... it's what I do. Buuut, there was only two weeks left before it was due and I was busy studying for upcoming finals week. So I searched for something else I could do...

I have always been fascinated by the spoken word, aka poetry. My first interest in it came after watching a video on YouTube called "To This Day" which is a spoken word piece done by Shane Koyczan that talks about bullying. After that I found other artists and listened to their pieces. I had always thought of it as some little schoolhouse academic rote that we were forced to learn. I found out how powerful poetry could really be.

So I chose spoken word. This was my first time really trying to write a piece like this. This is the product. I hope you enjoy!

Best Wishes! -Richie
